"In the future we want to support the development of motor-powered water sports in Poland and we dream about the start in Round Britain Race 2012" - says Mike Galczewski

Patryk Kazanecki: Hello! I congratulate the victory! Please tell us more about your boat.

Mike Galczewski:
Madness Marine boat, model SR-23, was the passion and desire for offshore racing. By the boat constructing we took into account both the provisions for CE tourist units and racing rules of UIM Class 3 C. It is equipped with two-stroke, carbureted engine XR2 Mercury Racing V6 with 200 hp and a capacity of 2000 cc' Boat is 7.2 m long, 1.98 meters wide and together with the engine weighs 750 kg. It has good bottom Hydrodynamics. It has a double tiered bottom with a deep V that provides improved handling of boats on the waves, keel pad (flatness of back bottom to achieve higher speeds). It is divided design, which uses high-density foam to rigid it and lean the construction. We used also multi-direction glass fabrics.

What are impressions after this year's race?
This year for the second time I took part in the race. This is a good and well-organized sport-social event, and most important, it's charity event, incomes from the event are designed to such lofty goals as the help for children
from orphanages and children requiring special care. As far as I know, the only such event in Poland. In previous years, also I raced in the Polish Cup and other events organized by WOZMWiNW. Last year I managed to win first place in Scandinavia Cup.

This year's contestants?
Strongest rivals were the boats of the first four places, the second SR-23 droved by my dad, as well as Baja 40 Outlaw with two huge MerCruisers 496 MAG HO, and "Samotny Wilk" a Jeanneau Cap Camarat 705 with two engines Mercury 200EFI. All of these units fought superbly and fight for the stage was very intense.

How long have you chasing a motor-powered boats and what are your plans for the future?
I have raced since 2007. In the future we want to support the development of motor-powered water sports in Poland and we dream about the start in Round Britain Race 2012.

Dream boat?
Not yet constructed (Laughs), but the project I have already in my mind.
What are most interesting races in the world?
Most interesting races in the world are P1 class. It is the fastest-growing and most classic formula of single-hull sea racing boats. Very impressive are also racing class Formula 4-Stroke co-funded by Honda. This one-design racing, where all boats are the same and crew skills are important, not sponsor's money.

Thank You ror the interview.
